COMEDIAN and TV host Vice Ganda joined calls to raise teachers’ salaries while taking a jab at corrupt politicians.
In an Instagram Story, Vice shared a quote attributed to Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman: “Maybe if we underpaid politicians and overpaid teachers, there would be smarter people and less stupid laws.”
The post drew approval from netizens who linked the remark to ongoing corruption scandals.
On “It’s Showtime,” Vice earlier denounced corruption as “not only theft of the people’s money, but theft of hope, dreams, and possibilities.” He said the impact extends to families who lose loved ones because of poor healthcare and disaster response caused by misused public funds.
“Kaya hindi lang pera ang ninanakaw ninyo, pati buhay,” he said.
Vice urged voters to hold officials accountable at the polls: “Sa pagboto nang tama, sa ‘wag pagpayag na ito ay patuloy nilang gawin sa atin.”
