After a viral incident at a gig in Mindoro, Francine Diaz, Clem Castro of Orange & Lemons, their managers, and event organizers were together on Saturday to discuss what transpired during the event on April 30, ABS-CBN News reported Saturday.
Orange & Lemons and Diaz were among the performers at the event organized by the local government unit of San Jose.
“Unang-una po sa lahat, humihingi po ako ng pasensya sa mga nangyari,” Kylee Dioneda, a producer and organizer, told ABS-CBN News. “Ito po talaga ay miscommunication lang po ng lahat, sa dami po ng nangyari that time sa event.”
ABS-CBN News said that Diaz was supposed to be the last artist to go on stage, and was scheduled to perform between 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
“Orange and Lemons was scheduled ahead of Diaz. The actress’ camp requested if Diaz can go ahead, since she was scheduled to sing just one song. They were given the go-signal, but the band was not informed of the situation,” the report added.
In the videos making the rounds on social media, the OPM band was already on stage when Diaz entered, greeted the audience, and cued the music for her performance. The band members, who were standing behind the actress, were noticeably dismayed while in discussion with some staff members.
Diaz went on with her performance while the band could be heard strumming their guitar in the background, but not in the tune of the song the actress was singing. A few moments later, the band members left the stage.
The report said Diaz agreed with Castro that a miscommunication had occurred.
“Nag-apologize din po ako kay Sir Clem, kasi kahit hindi ko po intention na mag-disrespect, ganun po ang nangyari. Ganun yung naging kalabasan,” the actress said.
