Target ng Department of Education na bawasan ang bilang ng subjects ng mga estudyante sa senior high school.

Ayon kay Education Secretary Sonny Angara, minamadali na rin ng kanilang hanay ang pag-review sa curriculum ng senior high school.

Sa 2024 Regional Conference on Education Planning in Asia, sinabi ni Angara na lima hanggang anim na curriculum na lang tinatarget ng kanilang hanay sa senior high school.

“So, we must have flexibility in our system,” pahayag ni Angara.

“If we reduce the subjects of our SHS curriculum, the students will have more time for the on-the-job training or work immersion needed by the industry so that our senior high school graduates will become more employable even if they lack work experience,” dagdag ng kalihim.

Una nang sinabi ni dating Education Secretary at Vice President Sara Duterte na kailangang rebisahin ang K to 12 curriculum para makalikha ng job-ready at responsible graduates.
