A disbarment complaint has been filed with the Supreme Court against former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque over his social media posts.
According to the complainant, Atty. Melvin Matibag, the issues raised against Roque included his social media postings.
He said this includes the “polvoron” video involving President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.
“First of all kasi yung proceedings ng disbarment this is confidential in nature so I cannot discuss in detail pero just to cite one instance, yung tungkol sa pulboron issue, deep fake iyon so yun yung isa sa mga reason,” Matibag said.
“But the more important thing is yung responsibility natin as an officer of the court as a lawyer, so dapat mataas ang standard namin so when we use social media dapat yung responsibility natin nandodoon,” he added.
Last month, an online was launched to urge the Supreme Court to disbar Roque for allegedly conducting himself in a manner unbecoming of a lawyer.
Roque was earlier cited in contempt by the House quad comm for failing to submit documents supposedly related to illegal POGOs in Porac, Pampanga.
In a Facebook video, Roque denied that he is a fugitive, reiterating that there are no cases filed against him and that he will wait for the decision of the Supreme Court.
