SORSOGON PROVINCE — A new world record has been set in Sorsogon after the province created the world’s largest nut brittle, or pili kunserba, measuring 144.16 square meters.
The massive delicacy, made from 1,500 kilos of pili nuts, was prepared by around 300 cooks as part of the Kasanggayahan Festival celebration. The cooking process took more than two hours and was displayed in an open area for public viewing.
Guinness World Records adjudicator Austin Johnson officially confirmed the feat and awarded the certificate to Governor Edwin Hamor, who said the recognition reaffirms Sorsogon’s status as the “Pili Capital of the World.”
